A pneumatic sleeve type control valve is a type of control valve used in process control systems to regulate the flow of fluids such as liquids, gases, or steam. The valve is operated by a pneumatic actuator which is connected to a controller that sends a signal to the actuator to open or close the valve based on the desired set point.

The working principle of a pneumatic sleeve type control valve involves the use of a pneumatic actuator that controls the movement of an inner sleeve inside the valve body to regulate the flow of fluid.  When a control signal is sent to the actuator, compressed air is directed into the actuator cylinder, which moves the actuator piston and the attached stem upwards. This upward movement of the stem causes the inner sleeve to move upwards as well, opening the valve and allowing fluid to flow through.

Conversely, when the control signal is removed, the compressed air is released from the actuator cylinder, and the actuator piston moves downwards, along with the attached stem. This downward movement of the stem causes the inner sleeve to move downwards as well, closing the valve and stopping the flow of fluid.

The movement of the inner sleeve is controlled by the position of the actuator piston, which is in turn determined by the pressure and volume of the compressed air supplied to the actuator. By adjusting the pressure and volume of the compressed air, the valve position can be adjusted to regulate the flow of fluid in a precise manner.
